1. Who we are
GetWill is a digital Will drafting platform operated by DESCENTEK FZ LLC (license number 47012866), with registered address at Compass Building, Al Shohada Road, AL Hamra Industrial Zone FZ, Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates ("we", "us", "our"). We are the data controller of the personal information you provide through the GetWill platform.
2. Information we collect
- Identification details: full name, date of birth, nationality, Emirates ID and passport details.
- Contact details: email address, phone number, residential address.
- Will-related information: family details, beneficiaries, guardians, executors and assets you choose to include.
- Payment information: processed by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Technical data: IP address, device, browser and usage analytics.
3. How we use your information
- To prepare your UAE Will draft based on the information you provide.
- To guide you through the ADJD registration pathway and related government fees.
- To process payments and issue receipts.
- To communicate with you about your application and provide customer support.
- To comply with applicable legal, regulatory and accounting obligations.
4. Legal basis
We process personal data on the basis of the contract you enter into when using GetWill, your consent (where required), our legitimate interests in operating and improving the service, and compliance with UAE laws including Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data.
5. Sharing of information
We do not sell your personal data. We may share information with: (i) service providers that support our platform (hosting, email, analytics, payments), under appropriate confidentiality obligations; (ii) competent authorities such as ADJD where you instruct us to support your registration; and (iii) regulators or law enforcement where required by law.
6. International transfers
Where personal data is transferred outside the UAE, we take reasonable steps to ensure an adequate level of protection through contractual safeguards.
7. Data retention
We retain your Will draft and related records for as long as your account is active and for the period required by applicable laws and tax/accounting obligations. You may request deletion at any time, subject to those obligations.
8. Security
We apply appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit, access controls and audit logging. No system is fully secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your rights
Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, update, restrict or delete your personal data, to withdraw consent, and to lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office.
10. Cookies
We use a limited set of cookies and similar technologies for essential functionality, security and analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the platform.
